Sponsors

Sponsors are added at the program level and are associated to all sessions created from the program. For most jurisdictions, a sponsor is required for validating eligibility of a program.

To review existing sponsors, access the Sponsor menu from the left navigation bar within section, Organization. The sponsor menu will include a top card for filtering, along with a second table highlighting all existing sponsors created within your organization.

This table will highlight:

A search bar, to search for your sponsor by Name, along with columns for:

  • Sponsor Name (sortable)
  • Enabled: indicating whether or not this sponsor is active (Learn more, here)
  • Associated Programs: the number of programs associated to this sponsor
  • NASBA ID: the NASBA ID entered for this sponsor
  • Type: Internal vs External. (Learn more, here)

Each sponsor will include a row action menu for further modifications to be made. Access this menu to edit, enable/disable, or in cases where it is relevant, delete.

Creating Sponsors

To create a new sponsor, click Add Sponsor on the top right of the form. Enter the name of your sponsor, include a NASBA Statement if available. Include the NASBA ID for your sponsor, if available.

Consider:

  • Is this Sponsor an In Firm sponsor? Checking this box will mean that programs associated to this sponsor will not count towards the Third Party requirement in New Mexico.
  • Is this Sponsor external? Checking this box will mean that this sponsor is only visible when your professionals are managing their own External Credit. See more on User Managed External Credit, here.

Select Save when you are ready to submit this new sponsor.

Managing Sponsors

To review or modify an existing sponsor, select the row action menu to expose the Edit option. Make the necessary modifications and Save when you’re ready to submit.

Modifications saved will automatically be reflected throughout the site and to any historical session records.

From the main sponsor menu, you will also have access to Enable, Disable, or Delete a sponsor.

  • Disabling a sponsor will remove this sponsor selection from sponsor dropdowns throughout the site. Disabling a sponsor will not remove it from any previously associated programs. This sponsor value, when disabled, will continue to remain tied to all associated events and reports.
  • Enabling a sponsor will expose this sponsor selection in sponsor dropdowns throughout the site.
  • Deleting a sponsor will remove this selection from all associated programs and reports. Take caution when performing this action as it cannot be undone. Consider disabling this value, as opposed to deleting.

Internal vs External Sponsors

In LCvista, we have two different sponsor types: Internal and External.

An internal sponsor is one that is created by your organization and is visible throughout the site to both administrators, and professionals if they are allowed to manage their own external credit.

An external sponsor is one that is either created by your professionals via the External Credit process or it has been entered by your organization and designated as external. External Sponsors will not appear throughout the site and will only be visible to associate to programs, from the professional managed External Credit form.

User Managed External Credit

If your organization has granted access to your professionals to manage their own external credit, they will have the ability to designate a sponsor at the time their external credit is submitted.

For any external credit records, where a new sponsor was manually entered by a professional, that sponsor would be designated as external. As a result of being categorized as an external sponsor, it would not appear within the administrative menus where sponsor is an available filter, including menus Manage Programs, and Program Catalog.

Filtering by Sponsor

Sponsor is an available filter accessible throughout the site. You will find this filter available on user facing menus, here:

  • Calendar
  • Transcript
  • Program Catalog

For administrators, additional access to Sponsor filters will be available here:

  • Manage Programs
  • Reports

Organizations also have access to set a default sponsor for their Calendar menu.

To set a default sponsor, access the navigation bar and Settings menu. Under Organization Settings, expand the Calendar Settings section and set the sponsor you wish to appear as the default from the user facing Calendar menu.
